When Should You Apply for an ECNR Passport?

What are the Documents Required for an ECNR Passport Application?

All the applicants who have applied for an ECNR passport need to submit self-attested copies with original documents at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK). All the documents depend on the applicant's eligibility criteria as given below:

  • A copy of the passport 
Seamen, Sea cadets, and deck cadets 
  • They need to provide a continuous discharge certificate
Individuals with permanent immigration visas in the UK, USA, and Australia. 
  • Provide a copy of the immigration visa or permanent resident card
Spouses and dependent children
  • Marriage certificate, birth certificate, or school leaving certificate for children

What is the ECNR Processing Time and Fees?

The processing time for the ECNR passport application in India is:

  • For a normal application, you need to wait for about 30-45 days for the process of your passport, along with the police verification.
