Anyone who was eligible to become a citizen of India or has been a citizen of India on or after January 26, 1950, and anyone who belonged to a territory that became a part of India after the 15th of August, 1947 is eligible to apply for an OCI card. Also, you must have a country of citizenship that permits dual citizenship.

A police clearance certificate (PCC), also known as a police certificate is an official document that verifies whether you have a criminal record or not. It is issued by law enforcement in a specific jurisdiction and contains your details, photograph, any convictions, warnings, criminal records, etc. You may need a PCC in various situations, such as when applying for a visa to reside or work in another country, applying for citizenship, or preparing for court appearances.

To get a PCC, one must generally be a resident or citizen of the country and handle a request through their local police department or authorized government agencies. If you are an Indian, you need to have an Indian passport and must be applying for a long-term visa, residential status, or immigration to be eligible to apply for a PCC. If you are a foreign national, you must be staying in India with a valid passport. Also, you must be applying for a PCC for the duration of your stay in India.
