Procedure to Apply For a PAN Card Online Through NSDL Portal:
- Visit the NSDL website (https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html) to apply for a new PAN Card Online.
- Select the Application type – New PAN for Indian citizens, foreign citizens, and correction in an existing PAN card.
- Select a category – PAN card for individuals, Business PAN Card, PAN card for NRIs, etc.
- Fill in all the required details in the standard PAN card application form. Including name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
- Click on the “Continue with the PAN Application Form” button.
- Applicants will be redirected to the new page to submit their digital e-KYC.
- Choose the option of which type of PAN card you need physical or electronic and provide the last four digits of your Aadhaar number.
- Enter your details, such as contact number, area code, AO type, etc.
- The last part of the form is the document submission and declaration.
- Click Proceed if no modification is required.
- Select the e-KYC option to verify using Aadhaar OTP. For Proof of Identity, Address, and Date of Birth, select Aadhaar in all fields and click on Proceed to continue.
- Make payment by choosing any one option from the demand draft or through net banking/debit/credit card.
- Click on “Continue with e-KYC” to get an OTP on your mobile number linked with an Aadhaar card.
- Enter the OTP and submit the form.
- Click on “Continue with e-Sign”
- Enter OTP and apply to get the PAN card Acknowledgement number in pdf. Applicants can use their date of birth as the password in DDMMYYYY format.
Steps to Apply for PAN through UTIITSL Website:
- Visit the official website of UTIITSL to fill out a PAN card application form online and click on ‘PAN Card for Indian Citizen/NRI’ under PAN Services.
- Click on ‘Apply for New PAN Card (Form 49A)’
- Fill out the standard form and provide personal and other mandatory details.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button
- Make a payment by choosing one of the given payment methods- BillDesk or PayU India. You can pay via net banking, debit card, credit card, cash card, etc.
- The applicants will get a payment confirmation. They can take a screenshot of the PAN card fee receipt.
- Paste 2 passport-sized photographs (3.5×2.5 cm) on the printed form and put your signature.
- Attach a copy of your identity, address, and date of birth proof documents PAN card application form and submit it online or send it to the nearest UTIITSL office.
Apply for an Instant e-PAN Through the Income tax e-filing Website
- Go to the official website of the e-Filing portal, and click on “Instant e-PAN” under the Quick Links menu.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, mark the checkbox, and click on “Continue” to get an OTP
- Enter the 6-digit OTP received on the mobile number linked with an Aadhar Card.
- After successful submission applicants will be redirected to the new screen that shows an Acknowledgement Number. Take a screenshot or save the acknowledgment number to track your e-PAN card status.

3: To prove your Date of Birth: While Applying for a PAN card you can choose any of the mentioned documents:

- Voter ID card
- Passport
