What is an OCI Card? – Meaning, Benefits & Application Process
An OCI Card (Overseas Citizen of India) is a long-term immigration status granted by the Government of India to foreign citizens of Indian origin. Introduced under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2005, it allows eligible individuals to live, work, and travel to India with a lifelong visa.
Unlike full citizenship, OCI does not provide voting rights or political privileges. However, it offers several benefits similar to those available to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).
