  • You must be a citizen of India.
  • Your age should be at least 18 to apply for an Indian Passport.
  • If you are a minor under the age of 18, the passport is going to be valid for 5 years only. 
  • Children between the ages of 15 and 18 are eligible to apply for a passport with 10-year validity. 

How to Apply Online?

Follow these steps to apply for an Indian Passport online:

  • Visit the official website of Passport Seva Kendra and register there.
  • Then click on "Apply for Passport". 
  • Fill out the form with the relevant details. 
  • Upload the documents and fulfill the Indian passport photo requirements (generally, the indian passport photo size is 2x2 mm).
  • Click on Submit and get your Indian passport file number by paying the fee.
  • After that, book an appointment at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra.
