An X visa is also known as an Entry visa. It is issued to people of Indian origin to enter India. It is different from a tourist visa. These visas are issued mainly for longer stays, which may exceed 180 days. However, for a long-term and hassle-free stay, people of Indian origin are generally advised to apply for an OCI card, which provides more benefits and flexibility.

The X Visa is subject to specific regulations for certain nationalities, and additional restrictions or requirements may apply depending on the applicant’s country of origin.

Who Is Eligible for an Indian X Visa?

The Indian X visa is provided to people of Indian origin and may also cover:

• Spouses of people of Indian origin
• Former nationals of India

India X Visa Validity

Requirements for the X Visa

In some cases, spouses may need to submit a legalized or apostilled marriage certificate, based on the country of application.
• Spouse and dependent family members of a person of Indian origin should provide proof of their relationship along with supporting visa or residency documents of the sponsor.
• Foreign nationals who have a valid reason related to India (such as family connections or other long-term purposes) should provide relevant supporting documents based on their purpose of visit.
• Other applicants must provide documents that support the purpose of their visit.
