An OCI card is valid lifelong. However, an OCI card has to be re-issued under certain circumstances. Like, when the OCI cardholder turns 20 and gets a new passport, and when the cardholder turns 50. OCI cardholders between the ages of 21 and 50 don’t have to re-issue their OCI card every time they get a new passport.

My card is valid lifetime but I renewed my OCI card when I was 50 because I got a new passport so I need to update the details on my OCI card.
