Are There Any Restrictions on OCI Cardholders Joining the Indian Armed Forces?

13 December, 2024 at 6:33 am

Yes, there are certain restrictions on OCI cardholders joining the Indian Armed Forces. Such as a foreign national who is undergoing military or police conscription at the time of applying for an OCI is not eligible, and any foreign military staff whether serving or retired is not eligible to apply for an OCI card. If the cardholder joins the military for a longer period than the compulsory conscription period then they must surrender their OCI card immediately.
