An OCI card is different from an Indian visa for long-term stays as it offers more rights and benefits and acts as a permanent residency visa. An OCI card is valid for a lifetime while a long-term Indian visa is valid only for five years. People holding an OCI card can visit India anytime without a visa while long-term Indian visa holders need to apply for a visa each time when visiting India.
