What Are the Consequences of Providing False Information on a Passport Application?

Filling and providing false information in passport applications is a crime under the Passports Act of 1967. If anyone provides false information then they have to face the consequences including Imprisonment or fine applicants have to pay the penalty or they will be sent to jail for up to two years. A fine of up to five thousand rupees, or both are applicable in such cases. Passport revocation The passport can be revoked after following the due procedure. Passport denial Passport facilities can be denied if an applicant provides incorrect details.
