What is a visitor visa?
A visitor visa is the visa that you need for a temporary visit to a country. These visas are non-immigrant visas and granted for a short visit for several reasons, like business, tourism, or a combination of both. Some travel purposes are not allowed on the visitor visa; you have to apply for a different visa for those purposes. The different purposes are mentioned below:
- For Business(B-1): It includes purposes like consulting with business associates, attending a scientific, educational, business, or professional conference, settling an estate, or negotiating a contract.
- For Tourism (B-2): It includes tourism, vacation, medical treatment, visit with relatives or friends, and many more.
- Purposes that are not allowed on a visitor visa: Employment, study, paid performances, permanent residence, arrival as a crew member, etc., are not allowed on a visitor visa.
How to Apply for a Visitor Visa?
There is a whole process for the visitor visa application, and you have to follow all the steps to apply for it. The steps are given below:
1. Application: The process starts with filling out a visitor visa application form. Visit the online platform and then fill out the form. Don't forget to carry the printed form of this application with you to the interview.
2. Documentation: Gather all the necessary documents, like a valid passport, a non-immigrant visa application, a fee receipt for the visa application, and your recent photographs.
3. Interview: You have to schedule an interview at the Embassy. In case of minors, younger than 14, there is no need for the interview. It goes the same with people older than 79. Prepare for the visa interview and note that the fee for the application is non-refundable.
